"All my experiences with Loren were good. Nice guy! If he's still a Witness, he just might not like me now."
He is one of the best people in the world. He is still a JW, but he's the type of guy that would give you some respect. He talks to me all the time and he knows how I feel about the truth. We just don't talk about it any more. You know how it is. His whole life has been wraped up in it.
In fact I'm sure he knows deep down inside the truth about the matter. I'm vary lucky that my whole fam still love me and talk to me quite often.
BTW: It really just knocked my socks off reading the board last night and see my dads name in a post.

Yes he is still alive and doing really well, in fact I was just up at the farm and saw him yesterday. His sister June just passed on in Jan. I'm quite lucky that I never got baptised so I am quite close to my famley.
I'm going to see him again this week and will ask him about that weekend if you don't mind?

Doesn't this quote ring a bell?
by WingCommander in"when our own thoughts are forbidden, when our questions are not allowed and our doubts are punished, when contacts and friendships outside of the organization are censored, we are being abused for an end that never justifies its means.
when our heart aches knowing we have made friendships and secret attachments that will be forever forbidden if we leave, we are in danger.
when we consider staying in a group because we cannot bear the loss, disappointment and sorrow our leaving will cause for ourselves and those we have come to love, we are in a cult.

Well...well...well. Look what you've done to this place!
by journey-on inbeen awhile since i participated.
like what you've done to the place, simon.
seems a bit tamer than the old board though.. need the board's input on a sociology question and wonder if some of you might respond.. i can't tell you how many conversations i have had with witnesses and ex-witnesses where the subject doesn't inevitably come up about who is still 'in' and who has 'fallen away'.
